having a good think about if I should keep or sell the 848.

pro's
looks good,
sounds good,
handles really well,
7.5k between services,
its a ducati lol

con's
took three months to get parts,
can stall the odd time at junctions,
well thrashed ones(track day heroes) have had major engine failure
price of parts/service

so if I was to get rid of it it would prob be to go back to a jap bike,
a lot of the new bikes arent easy on the eyes but look a hell of a lot better
with a good paint job.then there is bike sales for northern ireland,
seems the only way you can get rid of a bike is to trade in at a big loss.
really dont know what to do..... will have to get some test rides on other
bikes too to see how I feel about them.

I'm having two minds even to get another bike at the minute as the weather is sooooo crap, I was thinking I might just keep saving until end of september and get myself a bargain 06 R6 or something.

As for your dilema mate It really up to what you want outta your bike, If your happy with the looks and handling etc etc then thats all you can ask for.

You have me doubting wether to get an R1 or not as you said it could become boring and it will constantly be breaking the speed limits Sad

see thats what Im worried about.got the the blade an got bored of it as you
could sit in third gear all day long and by the time the power kicked in you
were already at a licence losing speed.the duke has to be rode like a two
stroke, wrong gear and you are going nowhere.the weather wouldnt really
bother me,been out every weekend on the bike....even when it was raining
like last weekend at the mid antrim we all had good craic out on the bikes.

Been looking at a K1 gsxr thou with upgraded fork internals and loads of other nice upgrades so maybe that but if not Im diff gonna get the R1. They will only go as quick as you make them and I personally think if the roads or road bikes aint giving a buzz then its get a race bike or track day bike as it will be quicker riding and safer.

not enough good tracks over here to consider giving up road bikes and doing tracks.
it would take more money to run a bike on a track than it would on the road....looked
at it long ago as I always wanted to do the road racing but once the kids came there
was no way I could afford it or get the time off work to do it.
